David Seaman says his “only concern” for In the case of Arsenal vs Leicester, the reason is that Mikel Arteta’s players may be suffering from “fatigue” after the epic battle at Manchester City last weekend.

The Gunners won three of their first four Premier League games and were close to a famous victory over champions City, despite the controversial sending off of Leandro Trossard.

But John Stones narrowly equalised deep into injury time to make it 2-2, sending City fans into ecstasy and denying the visitors their first win at the Etihad since 2015.

This result leaves Arsenal in fourth place in the Premier League table, two points behind leaders City, ahead of their clash with newly promoted Leicester at the Emirates.

The north London giants are still without captain Martin Odegaard and question marks remain over the fitness of David Raya, Jurrien Timber and Ben White, all of whom were absent from their side’s Carabao Cup win over Bolton.

Previewing Saturday’s match on the Seaman Says podcast, the former Arsenal goalkeeper said: “My only concern for this game is fatigue. They’ve recovered from what happened at City and maybe there are a few injuries.”

“Three away games and then we go to Leicester and we are expected to win that pretty easily.”

The former England No.1 believes that “the only saving grace” is that several key Arsenal players “have had a rest”, and Arteta is relying on the likes of Ethan Nwaneri, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Joshua Nichols for the game against Bolton.

“Last season we took four points from City. That wasn’t the problem, it was the other [teams]’ added Seaman.

“That’s why I’m worried about this game, but we’ll see.”

“I’m still predicting 3-0!” [laughs]’

Steve Cooper has no illusions about Leicester’s trip to the Emirates as his side face an “incredible team” like Arsenal.

“We are facing an incredible team that has been in top form for years,” Leicester’s head coach told reporters at his pre-match press conference.

“But it’s these games that you have to accept.”

“We trust in ourselves and there could be no better time to achieve the result we crave.”

Cooper added: “Everything has to be right in our game: with and without the ball, in the way we lead the game and in set pieces.”

“This also includes our mentality, our attitude to the game and our belief.”
