Donald Trump was so angry that he forgot to deactivate the caps lock key: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,” the former US president thundered on his online platform Truth Social. Shortly before, Swift had announced on Instagram that she would vote for the Democratic candidates Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the upcoming elections on November 5th.

In her post, the US singer also referred to the website for voter registration for first-time voters – with resounding success. In the first 24 hours after the call, the operators recorded almost 400,000 visitors. During the previous week, there were only 30,000 users per day.

With her positioning, Taylor Swift, the biggest star in the world, could actually have an influence on the US election, arguably the most important in the country’s history. And that’s because one person can combine so much popularity.

FC Bayern: CIO feared loss of relevance because of Taylor Swift

Apparently, not only Donald Trump finds this frightening, but also FC Bayern. According to “Sports Illustrated”, Michael Fichtner, the club’s Chief Information Officer, said at the “Auto, Motor and Sport” congress on the topic of AI and digitization:

“Our concern is that we will lose relevance and our fans will prefer to spend their time watching American football or Taylor Swift.”

In addition to the all-encompassing popularity of Taylor Swift, the US football league NFL is also extremely popular in this country. Games have also been taking place in Germany for several years, and with regard to the growth potential, NFL Germany boss Alexander Steinforth said: “Germany as a market ranks first or second behind the USA in all relevant metrics for the NFL.”

Taylor Swift provides additional momentum for the NFL

In fact, Taylor Swift has also had an impact on the NFL’s growth. Swift is dating the tight end of reigning Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs and regularly attends his games. A survey by the NFL’s Apex Marketing Group in February found that she has brought the league over $331 million in additional marketing value.

Ironically, FC Bayern Munich and the Kansas City Chiefs have entered into a strategic partnership and are working together on marketing.

According to “Sports Business”, Lara Krug, Chief Marketing Officer of the Chiefs, said last year that a competition between the two sports was “naive” and that both clubs can and should benefit from each other. Although the collaboration with the German record champions has significantly accelerated the Chiefs’ growth in Germany, Krug says there is enough space for both sports.

FC Bayern now seems to see things differently.
