The second Austrian “Bark Date” (bark, English for barking, note) will take place in Vienna’s Prater on October 6th, where dogs from animal welfare are supposed to find a home in a kind of speed dating. “We are really pleased that the Bark Date can now go into the second round after the success of the first event and, above all, the great placement rate,” said the founder of the Martin Rütter Dog School Vienna, the TV celebrity, author and podcaster Conny Sporrer .

The animal trainer at the Martin Rütter Dog School Vienna, Katja Staud, brought the campaign to Vienna after the idea for it was born by the Cologne veterinarian Lisa Williamson. At the first Bark Date in Vienna in June, eight of 15 animal welfare dogs were able to find a home. Under the motto “adopt instead of producing”, the many dogs in animal shelters will be given a chance two days after World Animal Protection Day on October 6th in the Prater from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
