Offenbach (dpa/lrs) – The weekend started wet and colder in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. The German Weather Service (DWD) expects some showers and thunderstorms – it is also expected to be significantly windier on Friday. The temperatures in the mountains are only between 12 and 15 degrees, otherwise between 15 and 18 degrees. According to the DWD, it will remain cloudy on Saturday night and there will be occasional showers of rain. The lowest temperatures are around 8 degrees, in the mountains up to 5 degrees.

Showers are also possible on Saturday at times, the DWD said. It will also be significantly cooler with maximum values ​​between 12 and 16 degrees, and at higher altitudes 9 to 13 degrees. On Sunday night it will remain mostly dry – fog will form locally. Temperatures drop to 6 to 4 degrees, at higher altitudes to 1 degree. In the low mountain ranges, local ground frost can also be expected.

On Sunday the weather will be a little friendlier: According to the DWD, it will be clear to cloudy and free of precipitation. It will remain just as cool as on Saturday, with 13 to 16 degrees, in high altitudes 9 to 13 degrees.
