Let’s go to the Fürth Michaelis church fair: it starts on Saturday with the beer tapping

Fürth (pm/vs) – Unlike the most typical church consecrations, it starts on a Saturday in Fürth. Read here when the official opening is and what program highlights you shouldn’t miss from September 28th to October 9th.

• Opening: Saturday, September 28th, from 10:15 a.m., on the forecourt of the Fürth City Theater; 11 a.m. tapping of the barrel by Mayor Thomas Jung

• Opening fireworks display by showmen and market merchants: Saturday, September 28th, 10 p.m., at Fürther Freiheit.

• Two shopping Sundays: September 29th and October 6th, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

• “Feierabend-Gwerch”: Tuesday, October 1st, from 6 p.m. on the entire church fair grounds and at the bars

• Betz’n-Tanz, Tuesday, October 1st, 8 p.m., Stadttheater forecourt; 8.30 p.m. balloon glow (meadow on Ulmenweg)

• Thanksgiving parade: Sunday, October 6th, from 11 a.m., with over 90 floats, foot groups, marching bands and bands. Train route: (Start) Herrnstrasse (corner of Schwabacher Strasse) – Schwabacher Strasse – Maxstrasse – Friedrichstrasse – Rudolf-Breitscheid-Strasse – Schwabacher Strasse (pedestrian zone) – Kohlenmarkt – Brandenburger Strasse – Königstrasse – Uferstrasse/Weiherstrasse (dissolution). Bavarian television will broadcast live from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

• Marriage lottery: Monday, October 7, 5:30 p.m.; Drawing of the winning pairs and awarding of prizes in front of the city theater with the church fair mascot “Kärwa-Betzala”.

• Family Day: Tuesday, October 8, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Children’s program in front of the city theater (1 p.m. – 5 p.m.)

• Magnificent fireworks to the sound of the church fair: October 9th, 10 p.m., Wiesen am Ulmenweg

In contrast to many other church fairs, the same times always apply to the Michaelmas church fair. These are daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with serving until 10:45 p.m.
