Wuelfrath. On October 5th, the Wülfrath Community Foundation is once again offering the cultural breakfast from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the WIR House – this time with a lecture by start-up founder Björn Sperling on the sustainable production of bags and backpacks.

Björn Sperling is the founder and managing director of the Bochum start-up Sperling Bags – a company that has been producing bags and backpacks made of cork and organic cotton since 2020. Together with co-founder Katharina Schmidt, he attaches great importance to sustainable natural materials in production that do not harm people, animals or the environment.

Sperling founded his first company, “Bjösper,” in 2012 while he was still finishing high school at the Wülfrath Municipal High School and produced sewing items based on customer requests – he learned the craft through YouTube videos and trial and error.

Registration for breakfast and lecture is required at www.neanderticket.de. Participation costs five euros.
