2 people arrested after high-speed chase during influencer event in Missoula

Two high-speed chases led to two arrests Thursday evening, according to Missoula police. In addition, there were more than 20 traffic stops, most of which resulted in charges of reckless driving.

As NBC Montana previously reported, an internet influencer named “Whistlin’ Diesel” was in town to promote his new alcohol brand.

At the same time, traffic jams occurred during rush hour on two of Missoula’s busiest streets. There were delays of more than 20 minutes in Mullan and Reserve, and it wasn’t just due to traffic – the police were called in numerous incidents.

The police told us that all those arrested were participants in the event.

NBC Montana listened in Friday afternoon in Jail Court, where two suspects arrested in connection with the high-speed chase made their first court appearance Friday afternoon.

Samuel James Burton, 20, was arrested for felony endangerment, fleeing or eluding police and misdemeanor resisting arrest. His bail was set at $50,000.

Shaydn Robert Moses, 18, was also arrested for criminal endangerment, driving under the influence, fleeing or eluding police and misdemeanor resisting arrest. His bail was also set at $50,000.
