Brigachtal: Cultural start with church service

Brigachtal – The Cultural Autumn 2024 opened in Brigachtal with a church service and Alpine sounds from Eschachtaler Stubenmusik. The mass was celebrated by Pastor Dominik Feigenbutz.

He said he really enjoys being able to celebrate this service here in the old, venerable St. Martin’s Church. Because the Christian faith has been lived here for centuries, Feigenbutz continued. Church hymns were sung again and again, and the organist Gerlinde Puttkammer tuned them on her keyboard instrument. In between, the parlor music played, whose melodic sounds the church visitors listened attentively. The performances included Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Posthorn Serenade and several organ minuets. After the service, the Peru Circle offered coffee and cake in front of the church.

The cultural autumn continues next Sunday, September 29th, 5 p.m. in the Martinskirche with an award winners’ concert: Johanna Dorothea Görißen (harp) and Michael Wehrmeyer (cello) will then give a classical concert. Görissen has already won prizes in international competitions. She has been playing the harp since she was eight years old. Wehrmeyer was born in Berlin in 2002 and began playing the cello at the age of five. He has won multiple prizes in the national youth music competition, according to an announcement.
