All apps with over 4.6 out of 5 stars

All apps with over 4.6 out of 5 stars

Both Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store contain countless apps, some of which are free and others for a fee. That’s not too much of a secret. However, what many people don’t know or don’t pay attention to is that paid full versions can often be downloaded without paying as part of an offer. We have picked out some particularly interesting free apps for you.

These pro apps are currently free (Android)

  • OXXO (0.59 euros) – This three-dimensional puzzle game requires your cognitive skills. There are no tutorials, just you, your smartphone and this app. The goal is to bring blocks into a certain shape or arrange them in a certain pattern. (4.8 stars, 2,060 reviews)
  • Illuminance – Lux Pro (0.19 euros) – This app is not for everyday use. But when it is needed, it should definitely be installed on the smartphone. Because it turns your smartphone into a light meter for measuring illuminance (lux). No additional hardware is required. (4.7 stars, 181 reviews)
  • Who uses my WiFi Pro (0.59 euros) – Everyone knows it: sometimes the Wi-Fi seems to be slower than a turtle. A possible reason is that strangers have tampered with your router. With this app you always know which devices are connected to your WiFi. (4.6 stars, 6,030 reviews)
  • Net Signal Pro (0.59 euros) – Meanwhile, when you’re on the move, it’s primarily the cell phone signal that causes a poor internet connection. With this app you can always find the place with the best internet – both outside and at home. (4.6 stars, 9,570 reviews)

These premium apps are currently free (iOS)

  • Cribbage HD (5.99 euros) – With this app you have the perfect cribbage (card game) experience right on your smartphone. And without in-app purchases. But with excellent graphics. (4.8 stars, 12 reviews)
  • timestamp camera (9.99 euros) – This application allows the inclined smartphone photographer to add additional information to the photo. This includes time and date information, location information or temperature data. And custom texts are also possible. (4.0 stars, 6 reviews)
  • Rally stars (3.99 euros) – Anyone who spent their childhood playing rally games will feel a lot of nostalgia when they see this app. The same look, the same fun. But this time on an iPad or an iPhone and in multiplayer mode. (no reviews)
  • Aqueduct 101 (2.29 euros) – This puzzle game focuses on the so-called aqueducts or water pipes. These have become confused and no longer allow the flow of water to pass through. Now it’s up to the player to change this. (4.8 stars, 200 reviews)

FREE APPS WITH TRAPS – THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO BE AWARE OF

All applications listed above were available free of charge at the time of writing. Unfortunately, developers rarely indicate how long the offer lasts. If you like an app, you should download it as soon as possible.

Before downloading the free apps, however, we recommend taking a closer look at the respective pages in the Play Store or the App Store. Because some programs have various stumbling blocks.

In-app purchases and advertising

As a rule, in-app purchases and advertising are more common in free applications, but full versions are often not spared – regardless of whether they were downloaded for free or for a fee. This is especially relevant if the program you downloaded is a game intended for children. In such and similar cases, one of the following parental controls can help:

App permissions

Some applications rent out information by collecting user information and reselling it. If you want to be on the safe side, you should make sure that you only grant apps the permissions they need to work. An alarm clock typically doesn’t require access to the camera or your contacts, while a flashlight doesn’t need to care about your location data.
