A man who reportedly fired at armored vehicles during a standoff was shot and killed by a SWAT team member early Friday morning.

According to police, Jacoby was found dead from multiple gunshots in the early morning of August 13, 2021, near Southeast 15th Street and Southeast Woodland Drive.

Investigators searched Jacoby’s phone and determined that Baldridge owed Jacoby a “significant amount.” The two men arranged to meet that morning to settle the debt and communicated several times via text and video call before the shooting. The last call ended about three minutes before the shots were reported.

Baldridge was arrested on August 16, 2021 and told investigators that he had communicated with Jacoby and confirmed that he had Jacoby money. Investigators also learned that Baldridge met with another person at a convenience store about six hours before the shooting to purchase a gun.

On Friday, Judge Heidi Moawad sentenced Baldridge to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 25 years for second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.
