Developer launches new campaign via Kickstarter

Developer launches new campaign via Kickstarter

After the disastrous failure of The Day Before, developer Fntastic returns with a new game via Kickstarter.

As is well known, the survival MMO The Day Before was shut down in January. Less than two months after the disastrous release on Steam.

Fntastic, as the responsible developer, was able to keep almost none of the promises. Since gameplay and videos were held back in advance, many players doubted its authenticity and the rumor mill was repeatedly fueled as to whether The Day Before would actually appear.

After the failed early access with tons of negative reviews in December, it quickly became clear: the game was a fiasco.

Developer Fntastic closed down quite quickly and announced its closure just a few days later.

But that shouldn’t be the end of the developer.

Fntastic announced its return this week. Darin apologized for The Day Before and stated that everyone deserves a second chance.

“Everyone deserves a second chance. We deeply apologize to everyone for The Day Before and take full responsibility for what happened.”

“Check out our Fntastic 2.0 plan, where we explain how we will fix our past mistakes and prepare to come back better.”

Under “Fntastic 2.0” they presented a plan and showed a trailer for Escape Factory, a physics-based multiplayer co-op escape game for 4-8 players, which is to be financed via Kickstarter.

The campaign’s goal is 13,937 euros. So far there have been 15 supporters who have invested 370 euros.

What did you think: Did the developers deserve a second chance after The Day Before?
