“Young and Strong” gathers for a counter-demonstration to the CSD in Landshut

Equality, acceptance, diversity: This is what Christopher Street Day (CSD) stands for. The sixth CSD will take place in Landshut on Saturday, September 28th. It should be an event with symbolic power. But for the first time in history, right-wing groups came together to counter-demonstrate the CSD: the “JS Bayern”. The abbreviation stands for “Young and Strong”.

As the tension rose before the CSD because no one knew exactly how many right-wing extremists would take part in the planned counter-demonstration, the police prepared for all eventualities and took security precautions. According to their own statements, over 200 officers, including forces from the USK support command, have the situation under control and are keeping demonstrators and counter-demonstrators separated. The Office for the Protection of the Constitution also closely monitored what was happening in Landshut.

The sixth CSD will take place in Landshut on September 28th, and according to police reports, around 50 right-wing counter-demonstrators have appeared so far. Over 200 police officers are on site to ensure security.

At around 11 a.m., police estimated there were around 50 right-wing extremist counter-demonstrators on site. Some had previously been picked up at the Munich train station and prevented from continuing their journey, the police said at the request of our media group.

During the counter-demonstration, shouts such as “Anyone who doesn’t love Germany should leave Germany” could be heard from the right-wing extremist group. It was said that the “Young Strong One” wanted to stay on site until 4 p.m. However, the counter-demonstration was broken up around 12:30 p.m.
