The death toll from the double strike in Sumy has risen to 19, with a nurse among those killed

In Sumy, a nurse was killed in a double Russian drone strike on a local hospital on the morning of September 28th. In total, nine people were killed and 19 injured.

This emerges from information from the Ministry of Health, reports Ukrinform.

“Another attack on a hospital. After the first attack, when the rescuers arrived at the scene and the evacuation began, the terrorists attacked it for the second time,” the message said.

According to the Ministry of Health, a nurse was among the nine dead.

The emergency team said that the search and rescue operation at the scene had been completed.

Rescuers evacuated people who were in a medical facility at the time of the initial impact to a safe location and were extinguishing a fire when they received a report that a second attack was imminent. All rescuers were able to leave the damaged hospital unharmed.

This time the impact occurred near the epicenter of the first impact between two five-story residential buildings.

Employees of the State Rescue Service evacuated residents from the damaged residential buildings and neutralized the sources of the fire.

A total of 122 people were evacuated.

As reported, the Russians launched a double-tap drone attack on a hospital in Sumy on Saturday morning.

The first attack left one person dead and several floors of the hospital destroyed.

While patients and staff were being evacuated, the Russians struck again.

A total of nine people died.
