Embattled Adams officials David Banks and Sheena Wright will marry this weekend as federal corruption investigations rock City Hall: sources

NYC Schools Chancellor David Banks and his longtime love, First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright, were quietly planning to get married on Martha’s Vineyard this weekend – sparking speculation that the wedding was intended to keep them from to testify against each other amid a federal corruption investigation involving the Adams administration, The Post has learned.

“They will definitely get married,” said a source close to the Chancellery.

Banks and Wright – two of Mayor Adams’ top aides – were rumored to be planning a wedding on the Massachusetts island in the summer of 2023, but they never sealed the deal, and they have kept quiet about their marriage plans ever since.

Earlier this month, Wright’s elegant home on West 143rd Street in Harlem was searched and her phone was confiscated. She lives there with Banks, who also owns a house in Queens that was also raided by FBI agents. His phone was also confiscated.

The exact purpose of the raids remains unclear, but Adams was indicted Thursday on federal fraud and bribery charges. He is the first sitting Big Apple mayor to be indicted by a grand jury.
In federal criminal cases, spouses cannot be forced to testify against each other.

While Banks and Wright were planning their wedding, Adams attended an event at a church in Queens on Saturday.
