Hansi Flick suffers first league defeat

Coach Hansi Flick lost for the first time with FC Barcelona in the Spanish football league. After seven wins in a row, Barca surprisingly lost 2:4 (0:2) at CA Osasuna.

The Catalans therefore missed their own club record from the 2013/14 season, when they won eight in a row under coach Gerardo Martino at the start of the league.

Before the break, Bayern’s loanee Bryan Zaragoza turned things around at Osasuna: He beat former Paulian Ante Budimir’s goal (18th) and scored himself (28th).

After Pau Victor’s goal (53′), Budimir again defeated Inaki Pena, who represented the injured national goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, this time with a penalty kick (72′). After the fourth CA goal by Abel Bretones (85th), super talent Lamine Yamal secured the final score in Pamplona with his fourth goal of the season in the league.

According to media reports, Barca will still use former Poland goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny in the goalkeeper position.

The 34-year-old actually announced his retirement a few weeks ago. Ter Stegen is expected to miss the entire season due to his serious knee injury.

Flick continues to confidently lead the table with the Catalans, but suffered his second competitive defeat: On the first matchday of the Champions League, Barcelona lost at AS Monaco (1:2) and therefore faces Young on Tuesday (9 p.m.). Boys Bern are already under pressure in the premier class.
