Tyrol: Car crash over 150 m of steep terrain → one dead person (37) in Pfunds

PFUNDS (TIROL): On the evening of September 27, 2024, a 37-year-old Austrian intended to drive his car downhill from a hunter’s hut in the municipality of Pfunds. For reasons unknown, the car went over the edge of the road and fell approximately 150 m through steep terrain.

Since the man was not with his relatives at the agreed time, a large-scale search operation was launched by the Pfunds and Ried fire departments, the mountain rescue service and the police. In the morning hours of September 28, 2024, the vehicle was found lying on its roof in a stream bed there at around 6:40 a.m. A short time later, the victim, who was presumably thrown from the vehicle, was found in the area of ​​the crash path. The emergency doctor who was called could only determine that the accident victim was dead.
