Molly-Mae Hague is being criticized by fans for “criminal” pricing for new clothing line Maebe – including a £140 blazer and £90 jeans

Molly-Mae Hague has been criticized by fans over the “criminal” prices of her new clothing line Maebe.

The 25-year-old influencer announced the prices, which include a blazer for £140 and a pair of jeans for £90, ahead of the launch of the debut collection at 7pm on Sunday.

The redesigned pieces include ‘The Ultimate Blazer’, which the star herself has previously worn on her Instagram, as well as a £50 ‘Contour Popper Top’.

The cheapest item in the collection is the Dreamer Pointelle Tee, priced at £35 for the simple cropped tee.

When Molly-Mae posted an update on Instagram, some fans were outraged at the items, branding them “overpriced” and “inaccessible.”

They wrote: ‘£140 for a blazer and £90 for a pair of jeans! ‘Criminal behaviour’; “I was so excited for the launch but £140 for a blazer is wild”; “£90 for jeans, I’m too broke for that.”

Others added: “Today is the day when overpriced clothing leaves us with a bad taste in our mouths.” I know she has millions of followers (myself included!) but I will no longer be following Maebe. I have no concerns about wasting my money on this. I don’t think I’m alone. It is open to “all women who have more than six figures in their bank accounts.” Then back to Zara for me!!!’;

“Oh my god her stuff is beautiful but the person she is she would have given anyone the chance to buy a blazer for £140, crazy £39 for the plain top she definitely needs at the prices to re-evaluate… I could afford to buy it, but for those who can.” ‘T’; “The prices are so bad to expensive, I find it sad that she chooses the upper class!”

Meanwhile, other fans disagreed, writing: “The prices aren’t even bad, she sells quality basics that you’ll have for years, not £3 Shein tops.”; “Anyone who complains about the price needs to realize that this is not SHEIN.” She opts for a higher quality brand. “It will sell out because a lot of people can actually afford it, unlike those who complain about the price”;

“When will you realize that she has said goodbye to fast fashion so that her clothes are no longer sold at fast fashion prices!” “Her main target group is the young girls, so it could be Christmas presents for them”;

“The price really depends on the quality of the item.” Think about clothes you bought for less but didn’t last long. These are classic staple foods that represent an investment and should therefore be worn much more often.”

Speaking to MailOnline ahead of publication, Molly-Mae admitted she was looking forward to a “new era” in her life following her split from fiancé Tommy Fury.

In an exclusive interview, the influencer said she was feeling “emotional” but was putting all her energy into the couple’s one-year-old daughter Bambi and her new clothing line Maebe.

She said the last six months had been a juggling act and that she found both raising children and running her existing businesses “difficult”.

But the fact that she was able to manage the launch of her fashion label alongside the end of her five-year relationship gave Molly the chance to focus on the next chapter, as she admits: “For me it was really good timing that it happened. “Everything just fit perfectly.”

Molly told MailOnline: ‘When I became a mother I changed a lot as a person and different things became important to me in terms of fashion. It was the right time to launch Maebe.” I was really ready to try something new.

“I feel really good about this new era of my life and think it will be very special and a great thing for me to focus on and dedicate my time to, alongside being Bambi’s mother.”

“For me it was a really good time that this happened.” Everything really came together perfectly. I’m so excited about it… I really have a great feeling for the brand. I see Maebe having a great future.

“I know if I take the right steps and do this well, I can really see it becoming really big and becoming one of those brands that everyone knows, and that’s my dream and my goal.”

Molly’s brand has taken three years to launch after her plans were put on hold following the birth of Bambi in January 2023.

Last weekend, she opened her first-ever pop-up shop where fans could experience the clothing before the 12-piece drop goes on sale next Sunday night at 7 p.m.

It’s a milestone in Molly’s career after years of lending her name to brands like Beauty Works and PrettyLittleThing, where she even served as creative director in 2021.
