New version of the desktop app is here

We reported on this several times in the past: customers have had better rights against their internet providers since 2021. If these often do not provide enough performance, the monthly salary can be reduced, and even special termination could be an issue. The Federal Network Agency has stipulated in a general decree when exactly such a deviation exists in the fixed network and when a reduction or extraordinary termination is justified. The measurement is currently quite complicated using the app called broadband measurement. There is now a new version (3.7.0) for the desktop. It offers an extended display of results and also has bug fixes and stability improvements on board. It is available for Windows, macOS and Linux. Maybe you should test it once if you think it’s bad.

The Federal Network Agency only published new figures at the end of March. In the area of fixed-line Internet connections, 85.5% of customers achieved at least half of the maximum speed guaranteed to them in their contract, which represents a slight increase compared to the previous year. In addition, 43.5% of users were able to fully achieve or even exceed their agreed maximum speed (2021/2022: 42.3%). Customer satisfaction has also increased, with 79.1% of respondents giving their service provider a grade of 1 to 3. Only 10.4 percent give grades 5 or 6 (2021/2022: 10.9 percent).
