4th game day of the NFL: Minnesota has to tremble after a lightning start at Green Bay

As of: September 29, 2024 10:33 p.m

With a strong quarterback Sam Darnold, the Minnesota Vikings got off to a lightning start in the NFL against the Green Bay Packers and in the end, only with a bit of luck, they kept their clean slate with four wins from four games. On Sunday (September 29th, 2024) the Vikings won 31:29 at Lambeau Field.

Minnesota quarterback Darnold delivered a sparkling performance in the first half with three touchdown passes. Minnesota led 28-0 before the Packers scored their first points just before halftime. And then came the time of the Packers defense and quarterback Jordan Love.

Within just under 90 seconds, Green Bay got within 22:28 in the fourth through two touchdown passes from Love and a successful two-point conversion instead of a kick.

First loss for the Steelers

But kicker Will Reichard pushed Minnesota’s lead back to nine points with a field goal. With 56 seconds left, Love brought his team close again with his fourth touchdown pass to make it 29:31. The Vikings didn’t give the ball away after that and celebrated their fourth win.

The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered their first defeat of the season. At the Indianapolis Colts, after a 0:17 deficit, the guests came within 24:27 thanks to a run by quarterback Justin Fields into the end zone and another touchdown – but that was all they could do.

Mayfield leads Tampa Bay to a clear victory

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were strong on offense. Led by a well-played quarterback Baker Mayfield (2 touchdown passes, 347 passing yards), the team from Florida beat the Philadelphia Eagles 33:16. The hosts struck with the first move of the game. Mayfield found Mike Evans with a short pass, who took the lead with his catch and became the most successful scorer in Buccaneers history with his 596th career point.

Kicker Koo gives the Falcons a late celebration

The Atlanta Falcons against the New Orleans Saints are exciting. Only two seconds before the end, kicker Younghoe Koo decided the game 26:24 for his Falcons with his fourth successful shot of the game, who, like the Saints, have a record of 2:2.

The New York Jets missed their third win of the season. Veteran star Aaron Rodgers didn’t have his best day against the Denver Broncos and was ultimately on the shoulders of kicker Greg Zuerlein. By 9:10, Zuerlein had converted his three field goal attempts, but the last kick from 50 yards missed.

In contrast, Denver’s rookie quarterback Bo Nix was able to celebrate not only the first successful touchdown pass of his career, but also his second victory in a row.

Dallas wins (as always) against the Giants

At the start of the game day, the Dallas Cowboys won a defensive game against the New York Giants on Thursday. The team around quarterback Dak Prescott held the hosts without a touchdown and retained the upper hand 20:15 (14:9). That gave the Cowboys their seventh straight win over the Giants.

Prescott also won the quarterback duel against New York’s Daniel Jones. Dallas’ playmaker threw two touchdown passes: in the first quarter over 15 yards to Rico Dowdle and in the second quarter over 55 yards to CeeDee Lamb. The guests took the lead with 14:6. Brandon Aubrey hit two field goals in the second half. The Giants only scored on field goals.
