Amarnath asks the government to initiate a CBI investigation

Visakhapatnam: YSRCP chief and former minister Gudivada Amarnath on Sunday expressed confidence that the Supreme Court will give the right verdict in the TTD-Laddu dispute. Addressing the media in Visakhapatnam on Sunday, he said that the TDP has no right to talk about the sanctity of Tirumala. The NDA government in the state has deliberately damaged the sanctity of the TTD for political reasons.

Amarnath said the new government has allocated most of the liquor shops to Tirupati. He wondered if it was seen as protecting the sanctity of the pilgrim city.

Furthermore, Amarnath said that Tirumala Laddu is being politicized by the alliance leaders. For this reason, YSRCP leaders conducted pujas as a purification ritual at temples across Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.

Since the NDA government in the state has failed to fulfill the promises made during the election campaign, it is resorting to diversionary politics by spreading fake campaigns. The Tirumala Laddu issue was merely turned into a controversy as a diversionary tactic, the former minister said.

It is not an issue that affects the five million people of the state, but an international issue that attracts worldwide attention, he criticized.

Amarnath said the opposition party knew how the Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up by the state government would probe the Laddu issue. The SIT will submit its report as per the directions of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and NDA leaders, he claimed.

Amarnath said the state government should clarify when and how the ghee tankers, which were sent back due to poor quality, were used for laddu making.

He demanded that the alliance government should initiate a CBI probe into adulteration of cow ghee or conduct an inquiry with a sitting Supreme Court judge.
