Bad for Lawson?

If Sergio Perez really were to stay, would that mean that Liam Lawson’s Formula 1 career would end after just six races? The New Zealander has a contract for the rest of the season, but nothing beyond that is known yet.

He is fighting against Yuki Tsunoda, the new Red Bull replacement driver Isack Hadjar and himself.

More about this in this article by Christian Nimmervoll.

Resignation? Not at all!

Sergio Perez has dismissed rumors of a possible retirement on social media over the weekend of the Mexican Grand Prix.

He shared a scene from the film on Instagram and X The Wolf of Wall Streetin which the main actor Leonardo DiCaprio, in his role as Jordan Belfort, gives an emotional speech in which he first says that he is leaving, but then makes it clear that he is staying with the words “I am not getting fucked”.

It looks like we can expect Checo in 2025 too, but he doesn’t seem to be sorry if you see the image or video caption.

Reporter legend at the regulars’ table

Tonight at 7 p.m. the next edition of the Formula1.de YouTube channel member regulars’ table will take place and we are looking forward to the visit of a true reporter legend: Roger Benoit!

It’s going to be a really entertaining evening as Benoit has seen just about everything there is to see in Formula 1. Together with Giorgio Piola, Benoit (pictured on the right) holds the record for the most visits to Formula 1 races as an accredited journalist.

He’ll chat a bit with editor-in-chief Christian Nimmervoll at the beginning of the evening, but then the channel members will come right over and can pester him with questions.

You can read all further information about Benoit, the regulars’ table and how you can get involved in this article.

Hamilton opens up

In a detailed interview with the Sunday Times Formula 1 record champion Lewis Hamilton spoke openly about dealing with pressure in motorsport at a young age, which had serious consequences:

“When I was in my twenties I had some really difficult periods. I have struggled with mental health issues my entire life. […] Depression. Very early on, when I was around 13. I think it was the pressure of racing and fighting at school. The bullying. I had no one to talk to.

A few years ago he worked with a therapist for a short time, but that didn’t really help him. “Today I would like to find someone,” he continued.
