PS5 download size announced shortly before launch

The horror rebuild of “Until Dawn” is about to be released. It is now clear how many GB players have to free up on their PS5 SSD. The download size is known.

The horror adventure “Until Dawn” Returns in a revised version. The title will be released for both the PS5 and the PC and should impress with new features and an expanded gaming experience.

The preload was activated shortly before the planned launch this week. This means that it is known how much data buyers of the upgraded version have to load onto their PS5.

PS5 rebuild download size revealed

As the X site @PlaystationSize reports, the download size of “Until Dawn” on the PS5 is around 56.6 GB, although there may be local variations. Compared to the original PS4 title, which took up just under 47GB, it’s an increase of around 10GB.

“Until Dawn” has made the jump to a new engine and offers revised and presumably higher resolution textures, which explains the increase in data despite PS5 compression technology. The Unreal Engine 5 should ultimately provide more realistic environments and characters as well as improved lighting and shadow effects.

The launch will take place on Friday, among other things PlayStation Storewhere around 70 euros are due. Interested horror fans can also choose the disc version, which is available for the Same amount changed hands.

Improved graphics and new content

“Until Dawn” comes with one Series of improvements and enhancements therefore. This includes updated character models, environments and props, as well as an expanded prologue and gameplay changes. Below is an overview:

Layoffs at the development studio

However, there are also downsides: The development studio Ballistic Moon, which is behind the new edition of “Until Dawn”, recently confirmed that there will be “significant layoffs”.

These measures are a response to the current changes in the games industry, which pose challenges for many studios. Exact numbers of the affected employees were not given. Below is our message on this topic:
