Woman is banned from entering Asda, Aldi, Co-Op and Spar stores across Lancashire

A woman from Chorley has been banned from entering several supermarkets and shops in Lancashire.




A CBO was issued against 45-year-old Angela Prescott, of Southport Terrace, Chorley, for aggravated shoplifting, for which she is currently serving a 16-week prison sentence following her conviction in August.

Prescott was given the CBO at Blackburn Magistrates’ Court earlier this month, banning her from entering any Asda, Aldi, Co-Op or Spar in Lancashire, including car parks.

PC Fitzsimmons, from Chorley’s neighborhood policing team, said: “I hope this outcome provides some reassurance to the community and businesses of Chorley and the rest of Lancashire. “We do not tolerate shoplifting and other criminal activity.”

Operation Vulture is Lancashire Constabulary’s response to shoplifting across the county, supported by Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw.

Clive Grunshaw, Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner, said: “As Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner, I will continue to work with the Chief Constable to develop a more proactive approach to shoplifting, with better protection for store staff and improved relationships between retailers and the Police.

“The public needs to know that if a crime such as shoplifting occurs, the police will come and the crime will be punished accordingly. I will continue to look closely at the police to achieve better outcomes on retail crime. “
