There is also a term for knocking over another player: tackle. However, only the player who is currently carrying the ball may be tackled. The two teams want to bring it into the opposing end zone.

In order to stop the opponents and grab the ball, you can also knock the opponents over. Sometimes that looks really intense. The players wear protective equipment. These include, for example, a helmet and knee pads.
