Possible DJI Mavic 4 leaks suggest a larger battery and longer flight time

We have already reported on the DJI Mavic 4, which could go on sale before the end of 2024. After being recently spotted publicly, it appears that content as well as necessary legal loopholes are being prepared for an imminent release date. And with the latest leak giving us the product label – and some details of the new drone – that seems more likely than ever.

The leak comes to us via @JasperEllens, who has been reporting on the various Mavic 4 leaks. He posted a compilation of previous information, including the image of the derelict Mavic 4, but also new FCC markings that he firmly believes are that of the Mavic 4:

“I’m sure this is the #Mavic4 FCC registration. We see a larger battery, indicating flight time improvements and #dual registration like previous Cine and Pro versions. DJI tries to hide the FCC names, but it doesn’t matter. Hello #Mavic4.“

As Ellens says, the images here suggest an improvement in battery life and therefore flight time. The 6471mAh battery would make it about 1500mAh better than the Mavic 3’s, which could mean a significant increase in flight life if the rest of the components are similarly slim. Of course, there’s a chance that these FCC drone designations refer to other products, either updates to existing lineups or entirely new drones, but given the other leaks surrounding the Mavic 4, we’re inclined to agree. As with other recent DJI drone releases, there will be a short social media teaser before the official release. So keep an eye on DJI’s official Twitter feeds as well as Ellen’s unofficial one.

The closer the Mavic 4 release date gets, the more frequent leaks become: the more people involved, the harder it becomes to keep the secret. We’ll stay on top of all the latest rumors and speculation to see how the Mavic 4 turns out – but we already have some interesting insights into what this drone could be.
