Mathias Kilian then welcomed the visitors to the hall and was happy about the loyal guests who have been there for years. Conductor Andreas Isele discovered a group from the Vorderburg Music Association in the hall again this year and was happy about the surprise visit from the friends from Austria.

Lunch, dinner, drinks, coffee and cake were available indoors and at stands outside. The service worked like clockwork. Under the direction of Nicole Eilers, the Dangstetten Music Association offered a varied morning pint concert on stage after the service. Christine Weißenberger humorously led through the program.

But the Berauers were sure: the sun would shine on Sunday. In 61 years it has only rained twice on parade Sunday, report Mathias Kilian and Mayor Tobias Gantert. He hasn’t known anything else in the past 13 years. The first frost was on roofs, cars and meadows on Sunday morning at a cool 0 to 3 degrees, but the sky was cloudless again and it was getting warmer.

Creative motif wagons for moving

At 2 p.m. sharp, the harvest parade with the traditional harvest crown at the head set off along the country road to the hall. Creative motifs from agriculture and the countryside, as well as floats showing old crafts, received much applause.

The fact that year after year villagers take on the task of building and designing elaborate parade floats is an outstanding feature of the region. Following the parade, the guest clubs offered a celebratory concert.
