Murder investigation after man found dead in Harrogate

County police said they received a report of an incident at a flat in Strawberry Dale, Harrogate, just before 11pm on Sunday (September 30).

Officers went to the address and found the body of a man in his 50s. He was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene of the accident.

Two men, aged 26 and 34, were arrested on suspicion of murder. A third person, a man in his 40s, was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three remain in police custody at this time.

Lead investigating officer, Detective Superintendent Jonathon Sygrove, said: “Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing. In accordance with standard procedure, we are in the process of notifying the Independent Office for Police Conduct following prior police contact with the deceased.”
