Live updates: Polk County Week 6 high school football results here

Concern over Hurricane Helene forced high school football schedules to be postponed across the state, including Polk County, with some teams starting their games on either Tuesday or Saturday. For Polk County, more than half of the games will be played tonight.

Most games would have had to be rescheduled if they could not be played on Monday as that was a big week for district games. In games already played, Lakeland won its first 5A-6 district game against Lake Gibsonwhile Kathleen, Auburndale and Lakeland Christian all lost district battles.

Two of the biggest district games are in 7A: Ridge Community plays at George Jenkins and Winter Haven plays at Haines City. Ridge is the top-ranked Polk team in District 6.
