The preload times for PC, Xbox and PlayStation are known – this is in the update

“Vessel of Hatred” will be launched in October – the first expansion for Diablo 4. The update brings numerous new features to the ARPG that not only players who buy the DLC can use. You will then find out when the download is available.

When does Vessel of Hatred come out? The Vessel of Hatred expansion will be released on October 8th at 01:00 UTC. However, you can download the update beforehand, depending on which platform you are playing on.

When does the preload start? The preload starts at different times depending on your platform:

• PC (Battle.net): October 1st at 01:00 CEST
• PC (Steam): releasing on October 8th at 1:00 a.m. CEST
• Console (Xbox and PlayStation): October 6th at 01:00 CEST

How big is the download? We don’t know the exact numbers yet, but the download could be around 25-50 GB. If you have to download the base game, you can expect 120 GB in total – including Diablo 4 plus Vessel of Hatred.

Update brings new features – also for the base game

This is in the update: The Vessel of Hatred update brings numerous new features and changes to the game. Many of these are available to all players who only own the Diablo 4 base game.

This includes changes to the level system and difficulty levels. Blizzard is doing away with the oft-criticized world levels and bringing 8 new levels to Diablo 4, with which you can determine the difficulty yourself. Monster levels are tied to this and are no longer displayed.

What do I only get in the expansion? To play the campaign that continues in the expansion, you must purchase a copy of Vessel of Hatred. You can only use the new class and the rune words then.

In general, everything that took place in the new area “Nahantu” is tied to the expansion, including the mercenaries whose quest you receive there, the co-op dungeon “Dark Citadel” and the Undercity of Kurast.
