CMS on board: Amazon brings the Signage Stick

Amazon is launching the digital signage counterpart to the Fire TV Stick: the Signage Stick. The mini media player comes with a pre-installed CMS – users can choose between the solutions of several Amazon software partners. These include Novisign, Nowsignage, Screencloud and Yodeck. Users need a separate license for the software; the stick is available for around $100.

The Signage Stick is not only visually identical to the Fire TV Stick, but also mimics the user experience. If the user connects the stick to a display, establishes the WiFi connection and enters the corresponding pairing code, the respective CMS starts directly in kiosk mode. The configuration can also be carried out using a mobile device. If you want to scale a network across multiple screens, a corresponding number of signage sticks are required.

The stick comes with a quad-core SoC, supports 4K video streaming and Wifi 6E connectivity. A bootloader, data encryption and regular updates should ensure security. The signage stick package includes an HDMI extender, an Amazon remote control, a power supply and a power cable.
