While the tool was originally only intended to be available to paying subscribers, it is now being opened up to all users: The latest update brings Gemini Live completely free for all Android users and paves the way for wider use.

With Gemini Live Communication with the AI ​​ChatBot changes fundamentally, as it is permanently available after activation and can be used as part of a normal conversation. Once activated, Gemini Live will listen to every word, only respond when necessary, can also be interrupted and the like. The goal is to turn it into a real assistant that can be used to have a conversation rather than a question-and-answer game.

Now, just a month and a half after launching the format, Google has announced that the live function is available free of charge to all users. The rollout began in mid-September and is now expected to be largely completed. As soon as it is available, you will be informed by the Gemini app. It is always possible to switch between the active live function and the normal conversation, so you don’t have to permanently choose one option. By default, Gemini will continue to use the classic question and answer system.

With the wide availability of Gemini Live, Google is likely to initially want to strengthen the use of the AI ​​ChatBot, which would probably not have been really wide with the Advanced subscription.
