Garfield Township father arrested for sexual assault of three children

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) — A Garfield Township man has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing three children for years.

According to the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office, the 30-year-old man is the children’s father and stepfather

The man’s identity was not released pending his arraignment.

On September 19, the sheriff’s office received reports of a possible sexual assault of a child.

The sheriff’s office said the alleged sexual assaults “occurred over a period of four to five years and involved children whose current ages are 15, 13 and….” [an] 11 years old,” the sheriff’s office said.

The following charges are brought against the man:

• Two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct
• Two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct
• Using a computer to commit a crime
• Advertising a minor for immoral purposes
• Contributing to the crime of a minor

The sheriff’s office investigation is ongoing.
