With the Lily 2 Active, Garmin is now offering a new GPS smartwatch that is also supposed to have a certain visual appeal. Extensive health functions are available and payment can be made conveniently using the watch.

Garmin has a very broad range of smartwatches and offers very well-equipped and robust smartwatches with map functions, such as the Fenix models. The Lily series is intended to impress with a certain focus on the visual design and is therefore less martial, but could – depending on your taste – be described as stylish. The series is now growing with the Lily 2 Active. Specifically, the Garmin Lily 2 Active is offered in the color variants lunar gold, silver and jasper green, and a quick-change silicone strap is included. The price is 350 euros, availability is almost immediate.

Regardless of the model version chosen, a rather special display is used, which has a resolution of 240 x 201 pixels and only supports 16 gray levels, but no color display. The LC display can be deactivated and thus hidden. It is a touchscreen and is also easy to operate. There are also two buttons on the right side of the housing. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and the wearable itself, which is largely made of aluminum, is said to be waterproof up to a test pressure of 5 ATM.

Heart rate measurement is possible, and oxygen saturation can also be measured both throughout the day and while sleeping. Like many current Garmin wearables, the Lily 2 Active supports the measurement of stress levels and can display the breathing rate, and the calculation and display of energy reserves is also supported (body battery). A GNSS module is installed with support for GPS, Glonass, Galileo and Beidou. There is a compass, but an altimeter is missing. Smart functions such as the display of notifications are integrated, and it is possible to control music playback on a smartphone – but there is no dedicated music storage available. Garmin Pay and thus contactless payment with the watch is supported. The running time is up to 9 days, and the GPS mode should be able to be activated continuously for 9 hours.
