PALESTINE, Texas (KLTV) – Two shooting suspects are in jail after one was ejected in an accident in Palestine on Monday.

According to Palestinian police, the pursuit began after shots were reported in the 100 block of Crockett Road around 11:37 p.m. A victim at the scene said he was hit in the head while trying to help two people with a flat tire. The victim said the couple fled in a white pickup truck.

The news release states that shortly afterward, officers discovered a white GMC pickup truck with a flat tire. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the truck fled. After a four-mile chase, the truck crashed at the intersection of Carolina Street and Conway Street, according to the release.

A search of the truck revealed several weapons, the release said, one of which was equipped with an automatic trigger switch.

Both Lyles and Mancera were charged with possession of prohibited weapons, theft of a firearm and illegal carrying of weapons. Mancera received an additional charge of evading arrest with a vehicle.

Lyles’ bonds total $175,000 and Mancera’s bonds total $275,000. Both remained in the Anderson County Jail at the time of reporting.
