Tim Walz shared the sweet story behind the friendship bracelets he wore on the debate stage

If you happened to watch the Vice Presidential Debate on October 1st, you may have noticed that Tim Walz was wearing an interesting accessory on his wrist. No, I’m not talking about the clock. I’m talking about the colorful beaded bracelets on him other wrist – which we can now confirm were indeed friendship bracelets. And they were given to him by one of his very dearest people.

On X, after Swifties received the friendship bracelets for Kamala, he wrote: “[Tim Walz] “I wore friendship bracelets on the debate stage and we try to stay cool with the best,” Walz himself tweeted the post. “Nothing is more important in my life than being a father,” he wrote, adding that the jewelry was a gift from his daughter. “Thanks to Hope for the good luck charm before last night’s debate.”

As soon as Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris and Tim Walz’s presidential candidacy on September 10, the campaign began selling Harris-Walz friendship bracelets on its website. One of the friendship bracelets Walz wore looked like it could be part of the campaign’s official promotional item, but the other, more colorful friendship bracelet more closely resembles something his daughter Hope Walz might have made.

Either way, that’s another point for the Swifties.
