Pixel 9a: Google's budget smartphone is coming much earlier

It is now certain that Google will do this next year Pixel 9a will introduce and thus bring the only budget offshoot of the ninth Pixel generation onto the market. There have already been some interesting leaks in the last few days and now the next surprise follows: According to several presumably reliable sources, Google will also bring forward the Pixel 9a and introduce it in March 2025.

Google caused a surprise this year with the early unveiling of the Pixel 9 smartphone. Because instead of October, i.e. pretty much this week or the next, this time the event was held in August and the smartphones were brought onto the market two months earlier than in the last nine years. Consequently, it seems that this also applies to the Pixel 9a, which we would normally expect between May and June 2025.

Now AH claims to have learned from several reliable sources that Google wants to introduce the Pixel 9a in March 2025 and bring it onto the market in the same month. This fits well with the big brothers, of course well with the Pixel 10 smartphones, which were also expected earlier, and also with the advanced Android 16 plan. It appears that Google is moving the entire mobile segment forward by two months. One can only speculate about the exact reasons.

This means that the Pixel 9a could launch in just over five months, which in turn explains the surprisingly early leaks we received this week. Due to the earlier schedule, it is expected that the further expected leaked information will also come a little earlier this year.
