Mold King has developed a reputation in recent years serious competition to LEGO and LEGO Technic developed. The brand primarily serves an older audience: the sets are huge, highly complex and have tons of motors, pneumatics and even a remote control. The highlight: In terms of price, they are still much cheaper than comparable sets from LEGO.

Why I now think Mold King is better than LEGO

As a little boy, I was an absolute LEGO fan. Of course, there were no real alternatives back then. For many years I was completely out of the topic – until now I got back into it again because of work. And there are two points that make me more likely to buy Mold King than LEGO:

  1. Mold King scores: Good quality of the bricks, extremely huge sets that make your inner child more than happy, really good prices and then the bricks are also compatible with LEGO. What more could you want?!
  2. LEGO gives up: Whereas Mold King offers a lot for little money, LEGO wants a lot of money for little. Filling stones are colorful, the fit is mediocre and the pricing is sometimes simply cheeky.

This is how you can almost move all parts of the crane – from the rotation of the main body to the alignment of the boom.

And this gigantic set, which will certainly give you over 20 hours of fun to set up (not to mention trying it out afterwards), currently costs just over €450. With LEGO something like that would be more than twice as expensive. In comparison, the price is simply unbeatable. The set usually costs around €100 to €150 more.

Here you can get a huge crane cheaper than it has been for a long time!
