DFB shooting star Nagelsmann is left out for now

Serge Gnabry will be at the party during next week’s international break, while Maximilian Beier is no longer part of Julian Nagelsmann’s squad for the first time in a long time. The BVB star will play for the U21 – the national coach explained his decision.

Munich – Serge Gnabry is currently one of the permanent staff at FC Bayern. If the right-footer had a bad day in the game against Aston Villa, he will be in the German national team squad next week and will complement the DFB offensive. Tim Kleindienst is also there as a “newcomer” compared to the last international break.

The sufferer in this case is Maximilian Beier, who hasn’t really been able to play his role in the spotlight at Borussia Dortmund. Instead of playing for the senior national team, the striker should gain self-confidence in the U21.

Julian Nagelsmann explained the decision as follows: “I have a very good exchange with Antonio Di Salvo about all the U21 players and of course also about the players in our squad who can play there.” According to the 37-year-old, the youth team would be one good opportunity to gather arguments for the first team again.

Nagelsmann: “Maxi doesn’t have the flow in Dortmund yet”

With regard to the decision, the national coach continued: “Maxi hasn’t yet got the flow in Dortmund, hasn’t collected the minutes and scorer points yet.” It wouldn’t make much sense if he only played 20 minutes for us again, which is currently what he’s doing in Dortmund is the order of the day. We would ideally like to give him two 90 minutes or two 70 or 80 minutes in the important qualifying games for the U21s.”

In the case of Karim Adeyemi, Nagelsmann already emphasized that the U21 national team was helpful in order to be considered for the A team again. During the last international break and the home European Championship, Maximilian Beier was part of the DFB squad and took on the joker role.
