MARIETTA — Three people have been arrested in connection with a weekend shooting that left a woman injured in Marietta.

Kylar Wilson, 20, of Marietta, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of attempted first-degree murder, Marietta Police Chief Katie Warden said this morning.

Two additional suspects – Brendon Pierce, 18, and Ashton Dugan, 20, both of Parkersburg – were arrested Wednesday by Parkersburg police on charges of aggravated assault and tampering with evidence, as well as second-degree obstruction of official business. They are in custody in West Virginia awaiting extradition to Ohio.

The incident happened just before 1 a.m. on Saturday. Marietta police said at least four people fired shots at each other in the parking lot of Advance Auto Parts at 220 Greene St. before fleeing the scene. A woman was shot in the face and taken to the hospital.

The warden said this morning that 38 shell casings were recovered from the scene. She declined to discuss the motive of the incident as the investigation was still ongoing.

The victim was not identified, but police said she has been released from the hospital.

Police questioned the fourth suspect but did not arrest that person.

“The whole incident is still under investigation.” said the overseer. “We had probable cause to arrest three of the four people.”
