This is what the guests wore to the opening

At the opening of the 20th edition of the Zurich Film Festival, the guests were less fashionably reserved than before. These include actors Jude Law, Nemo and local designers such as Julian Zigerli and Anna Meier Leuthold from En Soie.

Police officers and FBI agents aren’t exactly known for their sense of style. This is probably why the thriller “The Order”, the opening film of the 20th Zurich Film Festival (ZFF), had little influence on the guests’ wardrobes. At the event in the Congress Center, star guest Jude Law and the invited Swiss celebrities put on a surprising amount of color and unexpected labels. Although: The green bomber jacket that Law wears in the film certainly had its charm.

The most exciting looks of the evening:

Jude Law

The first star guest at this year’s ZFF was the English actor Jude Law. He went for a classic look in a dark suit by Sandro with a touch of retro chic. Instead of a standard shirt, the 51-year-old wore a cream-colored shawl collar, giving his outfit a subtle, elegant twist. His new film “The Order” is one of the highlights of the festival and was awarded the Golden Eye.

Jennifer Bossard

The journalist Jennifer Bosshard hosted the opening evening and chose a look that was particularly effective on the green carpet: a red, floor-length satin dress with a round neckline and ruffles by Max Mara. She also wore subtly glittering jewelry from Gübelin.

Nemo

Nemo brought a breath of fresh air to the opening of the ZFF. Also fashionable: This was ensured by a characteristic black corset dress from Vivienne Westwood, a burgundy velvet handbag from the same label and the so-called “Kiss Boots” from Rick Owens. The performance also served as promotion for Nemo’s new song “Eurostar”, the first since winning the Eurovision Song Contest.

Julian Zigerli and Anna Meier Leuthold

In an Instagram story, fashion designer Julian Zigerli called the opening evening of the ZFF the “Züri Met Gala”. This comparison is certainly debatable, but overall Zigerli was well dressed in his own velvet designs. This applies to Anna Meier Leuthold, who runs the Zurich label En Soie with her sisters: She wore a double-breasted blazer, light jeans and a tomato-red Chanel bag.

Lisa Brühlmann

Is it a hose? A Justus? A bit of both: The author and director Lisa Brühlmann wore the flowing “Infinite Pant” by Akris in ecru and a black cashmere top from the same St. Gallen fashion house. For the accessories, they stuck to light tones; A statement necklace in black and gold completed the look.

The young Swiss designer Yannik Zamboni appeared at the ZFF in one of his own designs. The avant-garde dress with a bustier top from Maison Blanche has a transparent skirt with asymmetrical details. He was accompanied by drag queen Agyness Champagne, who appeared in a color-coordinated ensemble with a trench coat – also a piece from Zamboni’s Maison Blanche label.

David Constantine

The “Tschugger” director and actor David Constantin appeared relaxed: with a navy blue jacket, a graphically patterned tie that doesn’t fit properly, and wide-legged olive green trousers. The bottle of champagne in her hand undoubtedly added to the nonchalance of the look.
