“Now something has happened,” writes Carolin suddenly

There are many pictures of Carolin Bohl: sometimes as a model in photo shoots, sensual and close. Sometimes in front of a New York shop window, sometimes in a bikini in front of cacti in Italian. In the last known photo, the 22-year-old smiles into the camera of her good friend and photographer Danny Darlington. They traveled together in the Negev desert.

But on the morning of October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists attacked Israel and murdered around 1,200 people. Carolin Bohl also fell victim to the attack in Kibbutz Nir Oz.

The terrible event was now a year ago. While radical minorities in Berlin take to the streets and trivialize or even celebrate the incredible collapse of civilization of those days, relatives and friends struggle with their pain.
