Jannik Sinner was happy with his first appearance in Shanghai.

It was close when Jannik Sinner lost to Carlos Alcaraz in the final in Beijing on Wednesday after the decisive tiebreak. 3:24 hours of world-class tennis ended in disappointment for the world number one. Many players had to struggle with this outcome for a long time. The South Tyrolean was completely relieved of this in Shanghai.

After 22 minutes at the latest, when Jannik Sinner had already won the first set against Taro Daniel, there was no longer any need to think about any possible repercussions from the previous week. “I felt very good today,” said the 22-year-old about his condition after the match.

Jannik Sinner very satisfied with his service games

Jannik Sinner was particularly pleased with his service that day. In the only close situation, midway through the second set, this one helped out of the tight situation. There was simply nothing to be gained for Taro Daniel that day. Result of a strong performance from the two-time Grand Slam winner.

In the next round, Jannik Sinner can compete with the Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry, who celebrated a three-set win against Botic van de Zandschulp. The hunt for the seventh title of the season continues in Shanghai. Maybe with a chance for revenge against Carlos Alcaraz for the final in Beijing next weekend.
