Gastronomy – Algae ice cream and pistachio milk: Berlin Food Week started – Economy

Berlin (dpa/bb) – The Berlin Food Week will celebrate its tenth birthday with many events around new nutritional trends. The festival’s program, which started on Monday, includes a market in Bikini Berlin with almost 50 exhibitors.

On Friday and Saturday, start-ups want to present new products there – including ice cream made from algae instead of cream, pistachio milk or coffee without beans. You can also try other local products.

Wine and French snacks

Wines and small delicacies from France will be offered at the end of the day in 18 Berlin restaurants until the end of the festival on Sunday. In a pop-up restaurant, chefs want to interpret the announcement of “iconic dishes” in a contemporary way.

Food Week also expects the well-known Spanish chef Ferran Adrià as a guest of honor. According to the program on Wednesday, the 62-year-old, who ran the now closed legendary restaurant “elBulli” on the Catalan coast for years, will give a lecture on the “influence of Catalan haute cuisine on gastronomy”.
