What sets the Kia EV3 apart?

Compact SUVs are experiencing a boom and Kia has understood that too. As the successor to the Kia e-Soul, the South Koreans are now bringing the EV3, which has to get into the same ring as the Volvo EX30 and the VW ID.3 – certainly not an easy undertaking. However, the EV3 in the standard range version comes with a decent data sheet: a front-wheel drive with 150 kW (205 hp) and up to 436 kilometers according to the standard are in black and white. Unlike the other Kia electric vehicles, the EV3 charges with 400 volt technology, so it takes around 30 minutes on the fast charger to charge the EV3 from 10 to 80 percent. However, an EFAHRER full test will show how the South Korean performs on the road.

The car itself is shorter and flatter than the Niro, but at least visually follows in the footsteps of the EV9 thanks to the many edges. However, the wheelbase remains similar to that of the Niro, meaning it offers a lot of space and offers enough legroom and headroom for adults in the front and back seats. The EV3 is also technically armed to the teeth: The Vehicle-To-Load function enables common household items to be charged using a car battery; In stop-and-go traffic, the EV3 takes complete lead.

Note: In the test you see the Kia EV3 in the GT line, so there may be different performance data.

Our bargain conclusion: No early bird bargain

Advantages
New, promising model
Freely configurable
Increasing the mileage package is cheap
Disadvantages
No early bird bargain
Long delivery time
High deployment costs

The new Kia EV3 has to assert itself in a highly competitive segment and promises a lot on paper: range, technology, performance and basic equipment are convincing – the only thing that needs to be tweaked is the leasing price. The first offers are not among the best and cheapest, so we can only hope that the price of the new electric model from South Korea will decrease in leasing over time. However, if you want to be one of the first to roll out in the fresh EV3, the offer is already quite socially acceptable.
