In a competitive game of the 9th round of the Regional League Mur met TUS Raika Neuwirt Schöder and UFC Gal each other. After a goalless first half, the party finally ended with a 2-1 win for the moderators from Schöder. The game offers both defensive blunders and brilliant individual actions that captivate the audience. The final phase was particularly tough when TUS Schöder secured victory with a late goal.

Goalless first half – there was still a lack of precision

In the first half, the game was fairly even, with neither team able to make a decisive impact. Schaffer from TUS Schöder caused the first excitement in the 11th minute with a dangerous shot, but the ball missed the target. Shortly afterwards, in the 13th and 23rd minutes, Schöder made an offensive effort with several corners, but without success. Despite good actions from the guests from Gaal, like in the 35th minute, the first half remained goalless.

It wasn’t until the end of the first half that the guests picked up some momentum. In the 37th minute, UFC Gaal headed just wide from a corner, which was the visitors’ best opportunity of the first half. Both teams went into the half-time break with an even score of 0-0, hoping for more offensive action in the second half.

Decisive second half

After the break, UFC Gaal got off to a dream start in the second half. In the 47th minute, Yusuf Karaagac gave the visitors a 1-0 lead after putting a precise shot into the net. This goal seemed to wake up TUS Schöder. Fortunately, a serious defensive mistake by the hosts in the 50th minute had no consequences.

In the 59th minute, Alex Schaffer equalized. A perfect pass from Maierhofer led to Schaffer skillfully putting the ball past the goalkeeper and into the goal. This inspired Schöder’s team, who continued to apply offensive pressure. Despite numerous chances, including an incredibly spectacular overhead kick goal from Kevin in the 55th minute, the game remained exciting and balanced.

The final phase was particularly dramatic as TUS Schöder continued to apply pressure and UFC Gaal was increasingly pushed onto the defensive. In the 87th minute, Tobias Stolz decided the game in favor of the hosts. After a precisely taken free kick from Staber, Stolz headed the ball unstoppably into the net and secured victory for his team. The party ended after 94 exciting minutes with a 2:1 for TUS Schöder.

The hosts proved to be the more determined team that day, while the visitors from Gaal used a defensive strategy that ultimately did not bring the desired result. The spectators experienced an exciting encounter that picked up pace especially in the second half and ended with a win for TUS Schöder.
