The Summit County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after human remains were discovered near Officer’s Gulch

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after human remains were discovered near Officer’s Gulch, located off Interstate 70 between Frisco and Copper Mountain.

According to a social media post from the sheriff’s officeOn Friday afternoon, October 4, a hiker discovered the decomposing body of a man near Officer’s Gulch.

According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation has not revealed any increased risk to public safety and the body is currently in the custody of the Summit County Coroner’s Office.

“Our condolences go out to the family and friends affected by this loss of life,” Sheriff Jaime FitzSimons said in the post.
