Numerous anniversaries will be celebrated at the 16th model building fair

REED. The International Model Building Fair is taking place for the 16th time this year. On October 19th and 20th, more than 180 companies and clubs from six countries will present their models and accessories in eight exhibition halls and the FACC Sky Dome.

The topics of plastic and cardboard model building, RC model building, model trains, Lego as well as a Playmobil exhibition offer a lot for young and old to discover, buy and admire.

“It is extremely gratifying that we manage to bring tried-and-tested and new things to Ried every year.” “The tens of thousands of visitors and the beaming eyes of our guests are the greatest reward for this,” says trade fair director Helmut Slezak.

Plastic and cardboard model making

In this sector, the Rieder model building fair is the largest exhibition in the German-speaking region. It is an industry meeting point for trade visitors and an interesting information platform.

The initiators of the first model building exhibitions in Ried, the Modellbaufreunde Ried im Innkreis, are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. Its chairman Gottfried Schachinger says: “This year a large number of clubs and model makers will once again be showcasing their artistic exhibits in Halls 17 and 18.” We are also proud of our work shops, which are run by outstanding model makers from Germany and Italy , Switzerland and Austria.”

A special highlight this year will be numerous sci-fi models.

Model trains

Miniature worlds and dioramas in different scales and gauges can be experienced in model railway hall 19.

A 100 square meter track 1 facility can be seen for the first time. The ÖBB is also represented this year with an exhibition stand and numerous railway models.

RC model making

The model making department impressed again with the demonstrations by IG Rad und Kette, the harbor basin in Hall 16 (including fire extinguishing demonstrations) and the demonstrations of racing models (Nitrofighter Lambrechten Association) and aircraft in the halls and in the FACC Sky Dome.

Experienced pilots from all over Austria show off their skills on the large indoor airfield in Hall 15.

Children can get their “RC truck driving license” in Hall 15. For the first time, visitors can try out a flight simulator from Scharnstein Airfield for themselves.

Lego

The Lego Hall 12 shows a variety of themed worlds from railways to a Technic action area with more than ten meters of gravel to Ninjago, GBC system, moving figures and robots. “Lego meets Slotcar” is aimed at the racing drivers in the audience. The Lego quick-building competition for young visitors is larger and more extensive (registration, information: www.modellbau-ried.at/lego).

65 years Mini

For the 65th birthday of the Mini (the car, not the skirt), the Mini Stammtisch HIV (Hausruck-Inn-Viertel) in Hall 12 is showing around 30 Minis made of Lego in a wide variety of variations.

50 years of Playmobil

In addition to the large figures and showcases in Hall 16, a game table with puzzles and games provides variety. Once a day, visitors have the opportunity to win prizes on the Playmobil wheel of fortune and try their luck in the guessing game.

Visitors can also expect a range of toys from all well-known manufacturers in Hall 16.
