Iran lifts flight restrictions early after halting all flights due to “operational restrictions”.

All flights from Iran’s airports were canceled on Sunday until 6 a.m. local time Monday due to “operational restrictions,” although the restrictions were reportedly lifted hours earlier.

Iran’s state media quoted a spokesman for the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization as announcing the first flight cancellations.

State media said the flights were canceled due to operational restrictions, but no further details were provided.

Around midnight, state media reported that flight restrictions in Iran had been lifted after safe conditions were secured. The announcement came hours before the flight ban was due to end.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday called out Western leaders who he said had called for an arms embargo on Israel because of airstrikes against Hamas in Gaza.

“As Israel fights the forces of barbarism led by Iran, all civilized countries should stand firmly with Israel, but President Macron and other Western leaders are now calling for arms embargoes against Israel. Shame on them,” Netanyahu said in a statement.
