Is Dynamo Dresden now having a headache? The trend is worrying

Dresden – There was always something in the end. Either the performance was wrong, the result or even both. After Dynamo’s defeat at BVB-Bubis the championship lead is gone. It’s hard to get over, but the trend is still worrying.

In Dortmund, Thomas Stamm’s (41) team failed to capitalize on their chances. Only Christoph Daferner (26) was able to use one of the numerous top-class opportunities to equalize.

But the striker in particular gave an insight into his mental life after the 1:2: “We have a long bus ride ahead of us where we will have to think about things again,” admitted the 26-year-old. “We just couldn’t get it to our side. It’s incredibly annoying that we’re going into the international break with a defeat.”

Threatens cave Dynamos After just five points in the last four games, do you now have a head problem? At least there is no longer much of a feeling of optimism in the club’s environment.

Dresden’s coach doesn’t see that. Above all, I won’t hear about it. “If you bring it up and discuss it week after week, then things naturally become established,” explained the 41-year-old.

“Tick things off, look forward, work on things we can influence. Then I don’t think that a lack of evaluation of opportunities will take hold. It’s about working on things.”

But this is much more than “just” evaluating opportunities. Dynamo’s game sometimes seems too slow. Over 70 percent possession of the ball certainly doesn’t hurt. But if you have most of it in safe regions, it won’t do you any good.

And the BVB boys have impressively proven that you can win with less than 30 percent. The SGD also has a lot of work to do defensively.

“If you have the two situations, then you can defend better. You can still keep a clean sheet in a game like this where the opponent uses a lot of switching play. “It’s not just the process in front of the goal, but also the process of how we defend it in the final third,” Stamm also had to admit.

At least he has two weeks until the next league game to work on it. A confident victory in Saxony Cup in Chemnitz would certainly help. Especially the head.
