Exciting derby: In the end, ATUS Bärnbach narrowly wins against UFC Söding – Football Styria – results, tables and goal scorers from all STMK leagues.

In the eighth round of the West Lower League, UFC Söding and ATUS Bärnbach met. The game developed into an exciting exchange of blows, in which the guests from Bärnbach narrowly had the upper hand in the end. The final score of 1:2 was the result of an intense and competitive game in which both teams had their chances. While the home team took the lead early on, the guests from Bärnbach managed an impressive turnaround.

Early lead for Söding and equalizer by Bärnbach

At the beginning of the first half, UFC Söding was able to quickly gain the upper hand and score the lead in the 16th minute. Dominik Kollmann scored the Strommer Söding team from a penalty and thus set an early example in the game. But the guests from Bärnbach were not discouraged by the deficit. Only ten minutes later we succeeded Alexander Lashat the equalizer to 1:1. This was the score that went into the half-time break, after both teams continued to try to take advantage of their chances, but without further success.

After the break, the guests from Bärnbach came out of the locker room determined. Already marked in the 47th minute Michael Murg the opening goal to make it 1:2. He coldly took advantage of the locals’ carelessness. This goal turned out to be decisive in the game, as it allowed ATUS Bärnbach to strategically retreat and wait for a counterattack. The UFC Söding tried to find an answer and tried with all its might to force the equalizer again. The hosts had some promising chances, but repeatedly failed due to Bärnbach’s well-organized defense. The guests failed to close the sack and score the redeeming third goal.

Exciting final phase and a sending off

The final phase of the game was characterized by tension and drama. The UFC Söding pushed for the equalizer and increased the pressure on the opposing defense. But despite all their efforts, the ATUS Bärnbach team remained steadfast and defended their narrow lead. Shortly before the end of regular time, a sending off caused additional explosiveness. Florian Kollmann from UFC Söding received a yellow-red card in the 90th minute, which further reduced his team’s chances of a comeback.

With eight minutes of added time, the hosts tried everything again to equalize. But time was running against them and ATUS Bärnbach continued to defend compactly and disciplined. Finally, the game ended with a 1-2 win for the guests after a total of 93 minutes. This meant that ATUS Bärnbach secured important points in the West Lower League, while UFC Söding was left empty-handed despite a good performance.

The derby offered the 200 spectators an exciting game that was played with passion and commitment on both sides. Despite the defeat, the UFC Söding showed a fighting performance and will certainly take valuable experience from this encounter.

“We had a hard time at the beginning. The reason was individual mistakes, which ultimately led to the home team’s penalty. But the team then fought back and scored the equalizer with a great goal. There were more chances in this phase The second goal was missed. The opponent was also always dangerous.

In the second half we came out of the locker room with a lot of momentum and promptly scored the opening goal. Unfortunately, we couldn’t close the bag with a third goal. Which is why Söding repeatedly found himself in dangerous situations and why things got hectic at the end. Our goalkeeper was a great support during this phase and so we were able to bring home the narrow victory.”
